The Raven Cycle Series by Maggie Stiefvater
Book - The Raven Cycle Series by Maggie
Stiefvater
Genre - Fantasy YA
My Rating -ππππ
“She recognized the strange happiness that came
from loving something without knowing why you did, that strange happiness that
was sometimes so big that it felt like sadness.”
“The head is too wise. The heart is all fire.”
This
book revolves around Blue Sargeant who is the daughter of a Clairvoyant but
lacks all the pyschic abilities herself. And Gansey, Adam and Ronan who attend
Aglionby Academy in the same Fictional town of Henrietta. These Four form a
group to solve the mystery surrounding the welsh king Glendower. The story
involves a lot of elements of paranormal and some magical abilities which, you’ll be stunned to read about.
The Raven Cycle series has a
story that slowly grows on you. The
first book was very slow and laid the groundwork for the next part of the
series. But the story gets better with every book and by the end of the second book, I could not wait to read it’s
end.
The author did a very good
job in creating a whole new world which was really different from other fantasy
books you must have read. The character development in this book is amazing. And
even if by chance you don’t love this book you’ll definitely love the
characters (Go Gansey).
I have read some other books
by this author and she has a certain writing style that you’ll either really
love or just hate with your heart. She writes in a very slow, soothing
manner which works well for this book.
