Romanov by Nadine Brandes | BOOK REVIEW

Book: Romanov by Nadine Brandes
Genre: Historical Fiction
Pages: 337
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Romanov is a retelling based on the famous Russian royal family – The Romanovs. It is based on the final years of the Romanov family, which were executed by the Bolsheviks during the Russian civil war in the 20th century.

“It is if you separate the two- old life and new life. But once you learn that it's all one life and each day is a new page, it gets a bit easier to let your story take an unexpected path.”

Anastasia “Nastya” Romanov is the protagonist of the story. The character of Nastya at the age of only 16-17 in the story shows true strength, wit and courage.  The story shows how people can find love and meaning in the most difficult times.

This book for me was a little underwhelming due to the over hype on the social media, had I read this book without any pre-conceived notion I might have liked this book a little more.
